Terms of Service

These Terms of Service are a binding agreement between you and Chandler Pickett, an individual trading as Ares United (“Ares United”, “we”, “us”, “our”), covering your use of aresunited.gg and your participation in the Ares United Council.

Ares United is not a corporation or a limited liability company. It is a sole proprietorship, which means the person named above is personally the contracting party. We state that plainly rather than implying a company structure that does not exist.

By using the site or joining the Council you confirm you have read and agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the site.

The short version

• You must be 18 or older to buy a Council membership.
• Council membership is a subscription to participation. It is not ownership, equity, or an investment.
• Member votes and input are non binding. They genuinely shape decisions, but they do not bind us.
• Payments run through Stripe. We never see or store your card details.
• Gifted subs are routed to signed creators on a best efforts basis and depend on third party platforms we do not control.
• Harassment, cheating and fraud get you removed without a refund.

1. Who can use this

The site is intended for people aged 18 or over. You must be 18 or older to purchase a Council membership, because it is a recurring payment. Under 18s may use the public parts of the site and the community with a parent or guardian’s permission and supervision.

We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. Any account found to be in breach of these age requirements will be closed.

2. Council membership

The Council is a recurring subscription. By enrolling you agree to:

• Recurring billing at the interval you chose at checkout, until you cancel.
• The community rules in our Discord.
• The understanding that voting and input on organizational decisions are non binding, and confer no ownership, equity, profit share, security, or executive control over Ares United.

Membership benefits, tiers and pricing may change. If we change them in a way that materially reduces what you are paying for, we will tell you before your next renewal so you can cancel first.

3. Gifted subscriptions to creators

From the Warrior rank upward, part of your membership is used to gift a subscription to a signed Ares United creator that you choose. You should understand:

• The gifted sub is delivered on the creator’s platform, such as Twitch or YouTube. Those platforms set their own terms, prices and availability, and we do not control them.
• If a creator leaves the org, stops streaming, or their platform makes delivery impossible, we will move your gift to another signed creator and tell you.
• The gift is made in your name by us. It is a benefit of membership, not a separate purchase, and it has no cash value to you.

4. Creators and teams

Creators and players signed to Ares United are independent contractors, not employees. You are responsible for your own taxes on anything you receive from us.

If you promote Ares United in exchange for anything of value, you must disclose that relationship clearly and in line with FTC guidance. That is your legal obligation as well as our house rule.

5. Conduct

You may not use the site, our Discord, or our events to:

• Cheat, exploit, grief, or use unauthorised software in any competition we run.
• Harass, threaten, defame or abuse any member, player, creator or member of staff.
• Post unlawful, obscene, or hateful content.
• Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of our systems.
• Misrepresent yourself as speaking for Ares United.

We may suspend or remove anyone who breaches this, immediately and without a refund for the remainder of the current period.

6. Payments and cancellation

All payments are processed by Stripe. We do not receive or store your full card details. Billing, cancellation and refunds are covered in our Refund Policy, which forms part of these Terms.

You can cancel at any time through the Stripe customer portal linked from your member dashboard, or by emailing us.

7. Our stuff and your stuff

The Ares United name, logo, crest and site content belong to us. Council members and signed creators get a limited, revocable, non exclusive licence to use our marks for the purpose of representing their membership or partnership, and for nothing else.

Anything you post in our community remains yours. By posting it you give us permission to display and share it in connection with running the org, which includes quoting it in a transparency report or a video.

8. Transparency reports

We publish monthly financial reports. These name signed creators and the amounts routed to them, because that is the point of the exercise. If you are a signed creator, you agree to that publication as a condition of being signed.

Council members are identified only by a display name they choose, and only from the Warrior rank up. See the Privacy Policy.

9. No guarantees

The site and the Council are provided as is. We do not guarantee that the org will reach any particular competitive result, sign any particular player or creator, run any particular event, or continue indefinitely. You are paying to take part in an attempt, and the published reports are how you judge whether it is going well.

10. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from your use of the site or your membership, including service interruptions, lost data, or the conduct of other users. Nothing here excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.

11. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms. The date at the top shows when they last changed. If a change materially affects your rights as a paying member, we will tell you before it applies to you.

12. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, United States. Any dispute will be handled in the state or federal courts serving Lake County, Florida.
