Tournaments

The Ares TDM Cup.

Our own event, run the same way as everything else here: the prize pool, the entry numbers and what it cost to put on all get published afterwards, whether it went well or not.

Status

Nothing scheduled.

No date set for the next Cup. When there is one, it appears here with the format, the prize pool and the entry link, and it goes out in Discord before it goes anywhere else.

We would rather leave this blank than leave a bracket up from an event that finished months ago and hope nobody scrolls.

The format

How the Cup runs.

Small, fast, and open. It is not trying to be a circuit. It exists so there is something on the calendar that we control and can publish end to end.

01

Open entry

No invite list and no seeding by reputation. Sign up, get a slot, play. Rosters are locked once the bracket is drawn.

02

One day, one bracket

Run and finished inside a day so nobody has to hold a weekend. Times are announced with the date.

03

Published afterwards

Entry count, prize pool, what it cost us to run, and what we got wrong. It lands in the monthly report like everything else.

Why we run it

A tournament we can show you the books on.

Prize pools in this scene have a habit of being announced and then quietly not paid. Ours is published before the event and reconciled after it, in the same report as everything else.

01 Funded before announced

The pool is covered before a date goes out. No raising it off entries and hoping enough people sign up.

02 Paid within the month

Winners paid inside the same reporting month, so the payment shows up in the report that covers the event.

03 Reconciled in public

What it cost, what it returned, and whether it was worth running again. Published either way.

Stay posted

Be first to know.

Dates, formats and entry links go to Discord before they go anywhere else. Council members get them a day earlier again.

Or just turn up

Watching costs nothing and the VODs stay public. Everything gets posted across these.
